From My Youth
I tend to get bored of an artwork if I take more than a couple of weeks to finish and I have a collection of unfinished work. I started these puppies in 1996, and it remained unfinished for the next two years. It is the only project I've ever picked up again and finished after letting it sit.

A high school drawing 3 assignment. We had to choose something in motion to draw. I love drawing horses; they have great muscle values.

I intended to create a set of big cats. The lion and panther were very difficult, as they were done in soft pastel and any slight touch smudged them. Then, when I lightly sprayed a fixitive on them, they darkened completely and I had to redo all the color. I haven't worked with them since, though I do admit, I sure like the finished projects. The tiger was done in colored pencil and I feel it is more vibrant.

Being 18"x24" done completely in colored pencil, this project took me a couple of months's worth of lunch breaks to finish. Whew! Now after a few college drawing courses, I wish I knew then what I do now about blending colored pencils, because it would have saved a lot of hand cramps and time!
Sadly, this is a drawing which I lost in the 2020 fire.

I tried to recreate a drawing I had done and gifted years ago. It didn't turn out the same, but I still had fun doing it.

Both bears were painted with coffee and hot chocolate (watered down for different values) then detailed with drawing pen.
