When I saw the photograph, I just knew my mother in law would love this.  I was taking a risk, as it is my very first attempt at using oil pastels. Now, they are my favorite medium.

Stormy Seas done in two days, was probably the most difficult piece I've done, so far.  I love it, but at the same time, feel there is so much I could do to make it better, yet never be satisfied.

Oil Pastel, 11x14

Not bad for an hour and a half of my time.  My first attempt at waves with acrylics.

From My Youth

When I was 14, my cousin and I took a three day oil painting class over the course of a week or two; this was the result.  My first and only oil painting.

I used the same reference photo for these three. The first one is acrylics on 11x14 canvas, using quick brush strokes.  The second is also acrylics on 11x14 canvas, but trying for a more realistic feel.  The third is done with colored pencil on mult-medium paper.  All of them done in May and June of 2021
