An attempt to create a drawing with an impressionistic feel. While it didn't turn out as expected, especially once I added the detailed table, I still had fun doing it.

High school drawing 4 assignment. We chose any subject but had to use a pen and use hatching and cross hatching. I recently edited it. The Original is to the right.

I'm in love with African Daisies. The first one is the original, and the second was made more vibrant with a fringe mode in an editor. I can't decide which I like more!

In my art history class, we learned about the Minoan fresco A Young Girl Gathering Saffron. I had been wanting to draw a picture for my professor, as a thank you for the class, and when I saw how pretty the crocus flower was (the red is the saffron) I knew this was what I was going to draw.

One of the first conversations my husband and I had was about understanding the intent of someone. A person may have a bad day and snap at you, but because you know that person, you understand it isn't personal. First impressions are important, but sometimes, you may catch someone on their bad day. Give them grace. Someone's first impression of you may have been on your bad day, too. You never know.
Get to know someone's core before you judge a snapshot of time of their life. The core is their essence, not the reflection of a stressful moment.
That conversation lead to our wedding theme and "icon" of our special day. I drew this in honor of the day we finally said "I do" to each other in 2018 (after a 30 year wait... that's another story for another time.)

At the end of 2020, I put it out in my Facebook universe that if anyone would gift me a set of watercolor pens, I would paint them something. Three days later I had an Amazon box on my porch!
The friend who sent it included a note saying she supported my "kriieations." I feel so blessed to have friends like her. Then, sadly, a few days later, her dad passed away, on December 31st, and I knew I wanted to paint something really special. I've titled this "Time Never Forgotten" using Forget-me-Not flowers with the watch time representing the date. I hope she feels the love I put into this.

I debated placing this here. It's a finger-painting I did while my 3-year-old niece painted one of her own. I like the colors.

Those who know me, also know I'm a singer. This was the cover of my CD, which I named "Long Black Train." Yes. I am aware it is a white train.
